Understand Your Dosha: In Ayurveda, three Doshas—Vata (Air), Pitta (Fire), and Kapha (Earth)—define our mind-body types. Each Dosha represents a unique combination of physical, emotional, and mental traits, shaping our identity and interactions with the world. Typically, one Dosha is dominant and influences our lifestyle preferences, although there may be a secondary dominant Dosha. An equal mix of all three Doshas is known as Tridoshic. This mix, referred to as Prakriti or "natural state," encompasses everything from our physical appearance to our inherent personality traits.

Good health is achieved when our Dosha balance aligns with our Prakriti. However, factors such as weather, seasons, lifestyle, and diet can disrupt this balance, causing imbalances in any Dosha. These imbalances create a secondary state called Vikriti. By understanding our symptoms, we can identify which Dosha requires balancing and use opposites—such as cooling foods for a Pitta imbalance—to restore harmony.
